Oliver Torres

Oliver Torres is a globally recognised Geomodeling expert with more than 20 years industry experience. He is a Subject Matter Expert in Application of 3D Geocellular modelling and Geostatistics in green and mature Fields, with few and abundant data, in a wide range of depositional environments.
He started his career in France and has worked with several service companies, then worked in VENEZUELA, UK, THE NETHERLANDS and NORWAY for SHELL, ENI, NEXEN, MAERSK, TALISMAN, REPSOL.
Mr Torres’s career and professional development in the Geomodelling area is broad-based, ranging from input quality control, data analysis, structural framework, advance isochoring and mapping techniques, sedimentological interpretations, facies description and generation, facies and petrophysical modeling for the improvement of the geological knowledge and reservoir studies including History Matching.
Mr Torres is well versed in many aspects of reservoir geology for development projects. Good cross-discipline communication skills for gathering and integrating quantitative and qualitative interpretations. Good understanding of processes used to deliver information into static models from other geoscientists. Strong analytical skills for data analysis and property modelling. At early stages, studying dynamic observations from Production Data and Well Test studies and learning as much as possible from reservoir engineers for early input into static models.
Mr Torres can quickly test different concepts and workflows for improving predictability on history matching studies. Mr Torres has a special interest in permeability heterogeneity, fracture networks, thin beds, translating depositional models into static models, and sand vertical and lateral connectivity related to baffling systems.
Mr Torres is very active in LinkedIn Groups related to Geomodeling, Reservoir Geology and has immensely contributed to the technical discussions.
Mr Torres holds a M.Sc. in Geostatistics from Paris School of Mines.
